This course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. This program is designed as a stand-alone course or it may be taught in conjunction with such courses as Advanced Nitrox Course. The objective of this course is to train divers how to plan and conduct a standard staged decompression dive not exceeding a maximum depth of forty five (45) msw / one hundred fifty (150) fsw. This program introduces the diver to equipment, technique, procedures and emergency protocols to engage in decompression diving in the safest possible manner. Risk assessment, planning, preparation and execution give the student tools to complete decompression dives to 150 ft .Graduates are able to make informed decisions to undertake dives outside the no decompression limits and manage the increased risks associated with these dives based on best practice information, litations of training, limitations of knowledge and assessment of personal limitations.Double cylinders w/ dual outlet manifold required. This course is intended to expose the diver to lengthier bottom times and decompression schedules. Decompression could easily be 20 minutes on adive. The diver should be comfortable in the water diving in his/her current gear configuration at their level of certification.Academic sessions will include:
Students may use any nitrox mix they are certified to use during this course and may take Advanced Nitrox in conjunction with Deco Procedures. |
